Cloverdale EAST Students
Are Looking Forward
To Annual National EAST Conference
In Hot Springs, Arkansas
It is estimated that over 80,000 students have been given the opportunity to
experience EAST. Each year, thousands of students from across the country
attend the National EAST Conference as a way to share their story, celebrate the
work they have done over the past year and for many students, experience for the
first time a trade show-like environment. The conference is also the EAST
Initiative's largest training venue of the year and a huge opportunity for our
students to meet other students from around the country and share
ideas. Last but certainly not least, our celebratory banquet is, for
some of our students, their first exposure to a formal banquet environment.
Parents are encouraged to join us in Hot Springs, Arkansas to hear these stories
and experience how EAST has impacted the lives of so many.

One of the most frequently asked questions is What is EAST? There are many questions that prospective partners have about the EAST Initiative; how it works, what it includes, and what is required of participating schools. EAST can best be described as a performance-based learning environment utilizing project-based, service learning integrated with advanced technological applications in an interdisciplinary laboratory environment, where the intellectual and problem-solving growth of the student is the focus. Technology is not taught in the EAST environment, rather the technology is a tool integrated into the learning process.
